Sophomore (2014): Key left-handed arm out of the bullpen...Appeared in 29 games all in relief and compiled a 1-2 record with a 2.91 ERA...Contributed in six combined shutouts...Pitched 21 2/3 innings on the season, allowed 20 hits, 7 earned runs, walked 8 batters and struck out 19 batters...Opponents hit .241 against him...Worked 2 2/3 scoreless innings against South Florida (3/12)...Worked two strings of 6 2/3 scoreless innings throughout the season.

Redshirt Freshman (2013): Served as a left-handed specialist for the Panthers…Didn’t allow an earned run in his first three outings of the year…Came in to get a key out at Bethune Cookman (2/20) and vs. Manhattan (2/24)…Pitched one inning of relief against Texas Tech (2/6) and did not allow an earned run…Struck out one in 2/3 of an inning of scoreless relief against Florida A&M (4/3)…Pitched a shutout inning at Middle Tennessee (4/21) and struck out one batter.

Freshman (2012): Sat out the year with a medical redshirt.

Prior to FIU: Attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. where he played for Robert Lawson… Had a 2.70 ERA with a 6-2 record while hitting .462 with two home runs his junior season… Was the winning pitcher in the district championship as well as the regional quarterfinals and championship as a junior… Also reached the state final four in 2010… Named to the Principals Honor Roll his senior year.

Personal: Born on March 3, 1993 in Miramar, Fla…. Son of Richard and Olga Perez-Cormier… Has three siblings; Chris, Rick and Katie… Aspires to play professional baseball and become a coach after his college career… Enjoys working out and spending time with friends in his spare time… Majoring in sport management… Also recruited out of high school by Nova Southeastern and Florida Gulf Coast.
