Freshman 2014: Played in 46 games, started 38...Hit .320 with 1 home run and 16 RBI for the season, including 8 doubles...Had a .445 on-base percentage -- highest on the team among players that had at least 100 plate appearances...Got his first college hit in the second game of the season against Rutgers (Feb. 15)...Went 1 for 3 with 3 RBI at Bethune-Cookman (Mar. 5)...Was 4 for 4 with a double and an RBI at South Florida (Mar. 12)...Was 3 for 3 against Rice (Mar. 16)...Had a 15-game hitting streak (Feb. 25-Mar. 25)...Hit first college home run against St. Peter's (Apr. 25)...Finished the season 6 for 12 with 2 doubles in a four-game stretch against Florida Atlantic, Tulane, Rice and Old Dominion (May 13-22).

Prior to FIU: Played for coach Tom Duffin at Monsignor Pace High School, where he was a four-year letterwinner…Won the 2012 and 2013 District and Regional Championship with Monsignor Pace…Was a 2013 First Team All-Dade County outfielder for the Spartans, where he hit .400 with nine home runs and 35 RBI his senior year…Named a Rawlings Florida All-Region in 2013…Was also recruited by UCF and Barry.

Personal: Was born on Aug. 8, 1995 in Miami Lakes, Fla…Is the son of Rafael Gomez and Gisela Muñoz…Plans on majoring in Criminal Justice at FIU…Enjoys working out in his free time.
