Rodolfo Martinez joined FIU in 2017 as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the football team. During his time with the football team, Martinez help take the Panthers to the 2017 Gasparilla Bowl in St. Petersburg, Florida. He then went on to become the assistant athletic trainer for the men's soccer team during the 2018 season, helping the Panthers to Conference USA playoffs. Martinez continued to work with the men's soccer team through the spring of 2019 before being hired as a full-time assistant athletic trainer for the baseball team after working with the team during the end of the spring season.
Prior to FIU, Martinez was a student assistant athletic trainer at the University of Pittsburg while pursing his undergrad degree, working with Pitt wrestling, football and men's soccer. He also worked with La Roche College and Central Catholic High School while at Pitt. Martinez helped take the Central Catholic High School football team to the PIAA state championship game in 2016.
A native of New Jersey, Martinez graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor's degree in athletic training in 2017. He then went on to obtain a master's degree in kinesiology in 2018 from FIU. Martinez also earned a certification in athletic training and licensure as an athletic trainer from the state of Florida.
