Prior to FIU: Played high school ball at Upland (Calif.) where he was named Freshman MVP and varsity MVP hitting .440 with five doubles, a home run and 27 RBI...Earned 1st team All-Valley and was a Baseline League Scholar Athlete...Had a 3.75 GPA...Recruited by Long Beach State, Nevada and Clemson.

Personal: Born May 21, 1997...Son of Chaffey and Anne Shepherd...Has two older sisters, Katelyn and Lyndsay...Majoring in marketing with plans to open his own BBQ restaurant.
