Junior (2019): Appeared in 54 games, started 52… Hit .255 with eight home runs and 30 RBIs… Had 41 hits, nine doubles, one triple and a .472 SLG%... Drew 27 walks and was hit by pitch six times… Accumulated a .379 OB%... Went 3-4 with a home run and four RBIs against Miami (2/27) … Had another three-hit game against Western Kentucky (3/22).

Sophomore (2018): Appeared in 51 games, started 49 . . . Hit .282 with three home runs and 21 RBI. . . Had 51 hits with ten doubles, drew eleven walks, scored 23 runs and had a .387 SLG%. . . Had three three-hit games versus FAU, Louisiana Tech and Bethune-Cookman. Was 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs against FAU (5/4). Was 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs against Miami (4/25).

Freshman (2017): Named Freshman All-America by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper...Hit .287 with 5 HR, 36 RBI...Collected 56 hits, 11 doubles and a triple...Third on the team with a .380 on-base percentage...Had a season-high four hits against Jacksonville State (2/19)...Was 4 for 13 against Charleston Southern (3/9-3/11)...Was 4 for 9 with 2 RBI at Mississippi State (4/4-4/5)...Went 5 for 12 against LA Tech (5/5-5/7)...Missed hitting for the cycle by a double against WKU (5/18), was 3 for 5 with 7 RBI in the game...At the Conference USA tournament was 3 for 7 with a HR and two RBI.   

Prior to FIU: Played at Gulliver Prep where he helped the Raiders to a district and regional championship...Earned team MVP honors his senior season...Hit .410 with seven home runs and 60 RBI in his career at Gulliver.

Personal: Son of Javier Valdes and Maribel Mena...Father, Javier was an infielder on the 1989 FIU baseball team...Majoring in sport management.
