Biography

FIU Notes: Sophomore eligible who will compete for the starting center position...has put on some 10 pounds since first arriving on campus last fall...bench pressed 395 pounds by the end of spring practice.

 

2000 (Freshman): Competed in two games on the offensive line, both coming off the bench, at Jacksonville University.

 

High School: Played two seasons of football and two of water polo at Hialeah Miami Lakes...voted HML’s Most Valuable Offensive Lineman and was an honorable mention member of The Miami Herald’s all-county team...also was an all-county performer in water polo as a goalie whose average margin of victory was 17.5 points...coached in football by Jeff Rogers.

 

Personal: Born 9/30/81...son of Carlos and Maria Ruiz...Finance major.
