Biography

Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference

2005 (Junior): A second-team All-Sun Belt Conference selection who caught at least two passes every game, including year highs of eight grabs against Western Kentucky (11/19) and Middle Tennessee (12/3), and seven catches in games at nationally-ranked Texas Tech (9/10) and Troy (10/20)...set a new school record with 61 catches on the season...his 5.5 receptions per game ranked second in the Sun Belt as did his 79.1 yards per contest...would have ranked tied for No. 41 in NCAA I-A statistics for receptions per game...had three 100-plus yard games, the fourth, fifth and sixth of his career, including a career-best 160 yards vs. Middle Tennessee...had a run for 28 yards in the season opener at Kansas State (9/3)...picked up touchdown receptions against Florida A&M (10/1) and then-league-leader Louisiana-Monroe (11/5)...ended the year with a team-leading 901 all-purpose yards...enters 2006 with the second-best career totals for total catches (136) and yards (1,855)...returned his lone punt of the season for six yards against MT.

 

2004 (Sophomore): Finished second on the squad with 46 receptions for 525 yards and three touchdowns...4.6 receptions per game ranked him 72nd nationally and third among all Independents...just 15 yards shy of becoming only the third Golden Panther receiver with 1,000 career yards...also was second on the team with 96.2 all-purpose yards per game...played in all 10 games with four starts and had at least two catches in all but one contest...top kick-off return specialist with an average of 21.7 yards on 19 returns...ranked No. 57 nationally in that category...five of those returns came against Georgia Southern (11/13) for 129 yards...also tied a school record in that game with 10 catches for 97 yards and a score...had two other 90-plus yard games with 99 yards in the opener at Youngstown State (9/11) and 98 at New Mexico State (10/30)...caught a 40-yard pass, his season long, at NMSU...carried the ball twice for a combined 21 yards at Youngstown State and had a six-yard rush at Stephen F. Austin (10/9)...returned one punt for minus-2 yards.

 

2003 (Freshman): Played in 10 games and his 29 catches ranked third best on the team...tops on the team having three games with more than 100 reception yards...tallied a season-best seven catches in contests at nationally-ranked Georgia Southern (10/4) and Stephen F. Austin (10/9)...caught six passes for a season-best 132 yards at Gardner-Webb (11/15)...also ran the ball for a 9-yard gain vs. Gardner-Webb and made his career-long 49-yard grab in that game...caught a pair of touchdown passes in back-to-back games at Georgia Southern and Stephen F. Austin...469 all-purpose yards and 46.9 yards per game was fifth best among the Golden Panthers...also forced to make tackles in games vs. Georgia Southern and I-A Louisiana-Lafayette (11/8).

 

Miami High School: Winner of eight varsity letters including three in football, two in basketball and track and one in badminton...named the football team’s Offensive MVP as both a junior and senior with 36 receptions for 578 yards in 2001 and completing 88-of-209 passes for 890 yards and 300 rushing yards as a senior quarterback...extracurricular activities included participation in the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Program.

 

Personal: Born August 9, 1985...selected FIU over interest shown by Rutgers, Bethune-Cookman, Florida A&M and Florida Atlantic...son of Chandler Williams, Jr....Criminal Justice major.
