FIU Athletics

FIU -- 2002 Freshman: Shared time at left defensive end with Daunte Foster...made some big plays but injuries hampered his progress...worked in the weight room to become bigger and stronger...coaches expect more improvement this season...played in 10 games and had 24 tackles (12 solo)...recorded at least one stop in every game he played with season highs of four tackles coming against Elon (9/7) and Gardner-Webb (10/26)...posted two sacks, one in the opener against Saint Peter’s (8/29) and the other in the come-back victory over Albany (11/9).

Carol City High School: Honorable mention All-Miami-Dade County performer...senior statistics included 76 tackles, seven sacks, five forced fumbles and two interceptions...helped the Chiefs win three district titles...member of the school’s Key Club...coached by Walt Fraser...playing youth football, was a four time Optimist MVP.

Personal: Born September 12, 1982...chose FIU over interest shown by Hampton and Texas Southern...son of Mary Horne...Elementary Education major.
