FIU Athletics Paw'dcast Episode 17, Part 2 | FIU Football's Cornerbacks Coach and Alumni Anthony Gaitor

Anthony Gaitor is back with the Panthers for his second season coaching the cornerbacks and his fourth overall in the program.
 
He was elevated to the position of assistant coach/outside linebackers prior to the 2023 season after serving as a graduate assistant on the FIU coaching staff before moving to coach the corners in 2024. He will enter his third season as a member of the full-time staff in 2025.
 
The FIU secondary recorded a total of 11 interceptions in 2024 – the 58th-highest total in FBS.


 
Gaitor was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the seventh round of the 2011 NFL Draft following a standout career as a player at FIU from 2007-10.  During his collegiate career, he accumulated 197 total tackles, including 19 for loss, four sacks, 11 interceptions (three which he returned for touchdowns) and 35 passes defended.
 
A native of Miami, Gaitor attended Miami Northwestern High School, where he was part of an immensely talented squad that also included six other future NFL players.
