Blair Peterson is in his first season in 2016 as a graduate assistant coach with the FIU football program. Peterson, who began the year on the defensive side of the ball, works closey with the tight ends.
 
Peterson, who began his collegiate playing career at New Mexico, later transferred to Towson State where he was a two-year letterwinner and played quarterback before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree Spanish in 2010.
 
Peterson last walked the sidelines from 2010-13, while serving as an offensive quality control assistant at the University of Texas where he worked directly with the Longhorns’ offensive coordinator, breaking down game film and assisting with play selection and in-game adjustments. He worked with Texas’ tight ends and quarterbacks in 2011 and 2012 and the Longhorn running backs and wide receivers in 2010
 
During the 2012 season, Peterson served as running backs coach during Texas’ 31-27 win in the Alamo Bowl against Oregon State. He also has coaching experience in the 2011 Holiday Bowl when the Longhorns defeated California, 21-10.
