Nate Taye

Handling the coaching of the back end of the defense will once again be Nate Taye, who is entering his third season at FIU and previously was on the coaching staff at the University of Colorado for six seasons – with the last three coming as the director of quality control for the Buffs' defensive unit.

His primary role as a graduate assistant at Colorado was working with the nickelbacks, in addition to assisting with the linebackers as well has having general overall duties with the entire defense.

He also held the title of assistant director of quality control at CU before earning the promotion in 2016.
Prior to his stint in Boulder, Taye spent time on the staff at San Jose State University under current FIU head coach Mike MacIntyre.

At San Jose State, he also helped with an assortment of duties including breaking down video, working with the scout team and other daily activities.  He graduated from SJSU with a degree in Political Science in May 2013 and was a member of the Dean’s List.
