Entered the 2002 season with the hopes of a starting defensive end assignment at the University of Minnesota...saw action in 70 plays over four games last season, including a start against Illinois (10/3/02), with two tackles (one solo) and a fumble recovery...redshirted by the Gophers in 2001, seeing action on 40 plays and making one stop on the season against Iowa (11/17/01)...all-state selection at Miami American, first-team all-county and a Rivals.com All-America selection...ranked among the top-50 players in the state by Florida Prep Football Magazine...tallied 45 tackles as a prep senior, 15 for loss with nine sacks...hard hitter who forced seven fumbles and recovered six...coached by Morty Bernstein.
