Biography

2013 (Sophomore): Appeared in 10 games, making four starts…earned the starting nod at Louisville (9/21), vs. East Carolina (11/2), at Middle Tennessee (11/9) and vs. Marshall (11/23)…appeared in the first three games of the season prior to the Louisville contest…completed five passes for 54 yards at Maryland (8/31), including a 36-yard strike to Fred Porter…went 3-for-3 for 14 yards in relief vs. UCF (9/6)…threw his first touchdown pass of the season vs. Bethune-Cookman (9/14), a one-yard toss to Jonnu Smith…replaced an injured Jake Medlock at Southern Miss (10/5) and led the Panthers to a 24-23 victory, as he went 8-for-13 for 93 yards and threw a third quarter touchdown pass of 16 yards to T.J. Lowder…followed that up with a season-high 194 passing yards on 21 completions vs. East Carolina (11/2)…completed 10-of-15 passes for 133 yards at Middle Tennessee (11/9) the following week…had 15 completions for 167 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown pass to Ya’Keem Griner vs. Marshall (11/23).

2012 (Freshman): Had enrolled at FIU during the spring to participate in football and quickly emerged as the No. 2 quarterback on the depth chart…appeared in six games, while starting three in replace of an injured Jake Medlock…after playing the second half vs. No. 18 Louisville, started at Louisiana (9/29), vs. Arkansas State (10/4) and at the end of the year vs. ULM (11/24)…became the first true freshman starter at FIU since Jamie Burke during the program’s inaugural 2002 season...completed 65-of-94 passes for 645 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions…also rushed the ball 44 times for 23 yards and one touchdown…had a long pass of 58 yards…was an impressive 9-of-10 passing vs. Louisville for 82 yards and one touchdown…in his first start at Louisiana, went 16-of-26 for 204 yards and two interceptions…vs. ASU, went 18-of-27 for 133 yards, one touchdown and one interception…also rushed a season-high 23 yards on 13 carries vs. the Red Wolves…in the season finale vs. ULM, went 22-of-31 for 226 yards and two touchdowns…vs. the War Hawks, threw a 58-yard touchdown pass to Willis Wright on the final play of regulation to set-up overtime.

Miami Northwestern: 2011 Miami Herald First-Team All-Dade...as a senior, completed 134-of-229 passes for 2,010 yards with 20 touchdowns and three interceptions and rushed for 650 yards and 10 touchdowns...played for the Miami-Dade team in the 18th annual Nike South Florida All-Star Game...garnered three stars from Rivals...committed to FIU on May 18, 2011...2011-12 Dade County Player of the Year...2012 Miami Northwestern Most Outstanding Player...coached by Billy Rolle...also played  basketball and baseball.
