FIU Notes: Redshirt freshman, expected to compete for the starting left-side defensive tackle...played in all six fall scrimmages with 19 tackles (nine solo) and three quarterback sacks.

High School: Offensive lineman who garnered numerous honors on the gridiron...first-team all-county, third-team all-state and a Bigger-Faster-Stronger (BFS) second-team All-American...selected the Spartans Most Valuable Offensive Lineman as a sophomore and the team's Most Valuable Offensive Player as a senior...also participated for two years with the track and field team and wrestled for one season...coached in football as a senior by Mike Shapiro.

Personal: Born 9/3/82...chose FIU over interest shown by Northeastern, Southeast Kentucky and South Florida...son of Jorge and Frances Gonzalez...Business major.
