2004 (Junior): Did not compete after undergoing groin surgery...looks to see most of his playing time in 2005 as a fullback.
2003 (Sophomore): Played in 11 games with eight starts at several different positions...a big part of the offense...grabbed nine receptions, good for 113 yards and a touchdown, which came in the win over Jacksonville (10/30)...caught his season-long 33-yard reception at I-A Troy (10/18).
2002 (Freshman): Finished the year as the top tight end receiver with 14 catches for 183 yards and one touchdown, which ranked him third best on the team in receiving yards...came up with four catches in games against Elon (9/7) and Butler (9/14) with a season-high 79 yards receiving against the Bulldogs...his lone touchdown catch was also his longest of the year, a 38-yard reception from quarterback Jamie Burke against Georgetown (9/28).
Marathon High School: An all-around athlete, playing football, baseball, soccer and hockey...three-time MVP in baseball and football and all-county in both sports, as well as in soccer...twice named as the Key West Citizen’s Player of the Year and a state 1A finalist for Player of the Year in baseball with a prep career batting average of .560...in football, rushed for 2,019 yards on offense, made 164 tackles on defense and averaged 41.7 yards punting for head coach Jerry Jones.
Personal: Born July 25, 1982...chose FIU over interest shown by UCF, Bemidji State, Lehigh and Miami of Ohio...son of Kerry and Debbie Struyf...Biology major.
