FIU Athletics

FIU -- 2002 Junior: Redshirt who was invited on to the team after participating in a try-out camp that was open to the general student body...Played in nine games and was selected special teams captain by his teammates...lacks the physical size to play every down but makes up for it with plenty of effort...made two tackles on the year (both solo) coming against Elon (9/7) and Florida Atlantic (11/23)...as an up-man on the kick-off team, ran back one kick for 10 yards against nationally-ranked Maine (10/19)...one of the strongest linebackers on the team...bench presses 385 pounds and squats 600 pounds.

Junior College and High School: Tried out and made the team during open workouts in March 2001...hadn’t competed in any organized football since the sixth grade.

Personal: Born August 2, 1978...son of Timothy and Allison Kelly...Finance major.
