2012 (Senior): Received preseason All-Sun Belt Conference honors from Athlon’s, Lindy’s and Phil Steele, while also being tapped as the No. 4 NFL Talent in the Sun Belt Conference from Lindy’s…has appeared in all nine games in 2012, starting seven…finished third on the team with 74 tackles, along with 1.5 tackles for loss, one sack, eight pass breakups, one interception and one quarterback hurry…set a career-high with 15 tackles at UCF…was selected as the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Panthers’ 28-20 road victory at South Alabama, as chosen by the league’s media panel…also received national recognition from College Football Performance Awards on Monday, earning honorable mention status at the linebacker position…was a defensive star in the win over USA, recording a team-high 11 tackles, including nine solo stops, one forced fumble, two pass breakups, one quarterback hurry and one interception…was outstanding in the fourth quarter with the game on-the-line and FIU clinging to its one touchdown lead…shortly after the start of the fourth quarter, and following an FIU three-and-out, USA appeared to have the momentum driving with the ball back into the Panthers side of the field on one play…however, on the second play, Hunt forced a fumble on USA running back Demetre Baker at the FIU 48 with 11 minutes left, allowing the Panthers to recover on their own 38-yard-line…on USA's next drive, they pushed all the way down to the FIU eight-yard-line…Hunt stopped running back Kendall Houston for only a two-yard gain on second down, and then had a critical pass breakup on quarterback Ross Metheny on third down from the six…USA would miss the field goal attempt…on USA's final drive Hunt intercepted Metheny at midfield, ending the Jaguars' final threat.
2011 (Junior): Chosen to Phil Steele’s All-Sun Belt Conference Third-Team...had a huge first season at FIU in 2011, starting all 13 games and finished second on the team with 85 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss and four sacks...his stats placed him among the Sun Belt Conference statistical leaders for tackles (No. 15), sacks (No. 14) and tackles for loss (No. 8) in 2011...was an Honorable Mention National Defensive Player of the Week in week #10 from CollegeFootballPerformance.com…had a career-high 13 tackles (all solo) vs. Marshall (12/20) in the Beef O’Brady’s Bowl…recorded 11 tackles in a game twice: vs. UCF (9/17) and WKU (11/ 5).
Copiah-Lincoln C.C.: Chose FIU over interest from Iowa, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Mississippi State, Southern Miss and UAB...named to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Region XXIII First Team and Mississippi Community and Junior College (MACJC) First Team All-State after a season when he had 88 tackles (62 solo), four quarterback sacks, and one interception.
Franklin County: Was recruited out of high school by Mississippi State, Southern Miss, Alcorn State, Duke, Mississippi and Tulane…was a three-sport star (football, baseball and basketball)…during senior season, played mostly at linebacker and fullback…2007 All-State as a junior…2007 Daily Leader All-Area First-Team Offense…as a junior he recorded more than 80 tackles, with one interception and two forced fumbles on the defensive side of the ball, while rushing for more than 835 yards on offense and a team-leading 13 touchdowns…helped lead team to the Class 3A state championship game as a junior…part of the Class 3A state championship team as a sophomore, where he was wide receiver and defensive back…in baseball, selected to play in the 2008 Mississippi State Games baseball tournament and was selected to the 2007 District 7 State Games All-Star Baseball Team.
