Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference

2005 (Redshirt Junior): A second-team All-Sun Belt Conference quarterback who ranked tops in the league in passing yards per game (223.7 ypg), second in total offense (224.8) and second in passing efficiency (122.6)...completed 221-of-366 passes for 2,461 yards?his third consecutive season with 2,000+ passing yards...under Padrick’s leadership, the Golden Panthers offense ranked first in SBC passing offense and third in team scoring offense and total offense...had a school-record streak of 172 pass attempts without an interception from 10/20 through 11/26...tossed three TD passes at Louisiana-Monroe (11/5), helping FIU to its first ever win over a I-A and Sun Belt Conference program...became a dual threat late in the year with 82 yards on 15 rushes (5.4 yards per carry with three touchdowns)...threw TD passes in nine of 11 games...passed for 324 yards in a win over Western Kentucky (11/19) and had 314 yards in a come-from-behind victory over Middle Tennessee (12/3), giving him four 300+ yard games over his career...collected seven more games with more than 200 yards passing, giving him 21 over three seasons...hit for three touchdowns versus Florida A&M (10/1) and Middle Tennessee...picked up a pair of scoring runs against WKU and another at Arkansas State (9/24)...set a new school record with 31 pass completions at Troy (10/20).

 

2004 (Redshirt Sophomore): Starting quarterback who continued to progress as an offensive leader...became the first Golden Panthers signal-caller to pass for more than 4,500 career yards after throwing for 2,269 yards with 203 completions...holds nearly every other FIU school record in passing...ranked 35th nationally in I-AA total offense (220.4 yards/game) and was third among all Independents in that category...played a significant role in FIU's ranking No. 22 in national passing offense...improved his passing efficiency (113.74) and percentage of completions (56.7-percent) over his freshman campaign, with 20-or-more pass completions in five contests...finished the year with 12 touchdowns and 13 interceptions...threw TD passes in eight of 10 games and had four games with two scoring throws...had back-to-back games with 27 completions against nationally-ranked Georgia Southern (11/13) and Western Kentucky (11/20)...completed a career-best nine consecutive passes versus Georgia Southern...athleticism was a main reason behind being sacked only nine times on the year...hooked up with Cory McKinney on a 71-yard screen pass for a touchdown against Florida A&M (11/27) that is the longest pass reception for a score in FIU football history...in three of the final four games, passed for more than 275 total yards...Golden Panthers' quarterback on 37 of the 40 scoring drives...ended the season with 71 straight passing attempts without an interception.

 

2003 (Redshirt Freshman): Story of the season...a redshirt freshman who came to camp No. 3 on the depth chart but injuries pushed him into starting duty...responded by showing ongoing improvement as the season progressed and completed nearly 50 percent of his passes (183-for-367) for a school-record 2,493 yards, an average of 226.6 yards per game...named FIU’s Most Valuable Player...his 220.5 yards of total offense per game ranked 30th in the nation and second among Independents...became the first FIU quarterback in history to throw for more than 300 yards in a game when he passed for 370 yards against nationally-ranked Georgia Southern (10/4)...named as the Independent Player of the Week by Dopke.com and to the Independent Offensive honor roll following that performance...passed for 324 yards in the overtime loss at Gardner-Webb (11/15)...12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions with a pair of three touchdown games vs. Georgia Southern and Jacksonville (10/30)...hooked up with receiver Harold Leath for a season-long 60-yard scoring pass at Georgia Southern...voted to the Independent Offensive Honor Roll for a second time that season following the win over JU...also rushed for a touchdown against Jacksonville and scored a two-point conversion on a quarterback draw versus nationally-ranked Bethune-Cookman (9/20)...passing efficiency of 111.17 ranked fourth best among Independent quarterbacks...Honor Roll Student for fall 2003.

 

2002 (Freshman): Member of the scout team...did not compete.  

 

Merritt Island High School: Named first-team All-Space Coast Conference as both a junior and senior...passed for over 1,300 yards his senior year and ran for another 486...threw for nine touchdowns and rushed for three more for head coach Gerald Hodgin...picked as a Player of the Week...state qualifier in track his junior year as a high jumper, with a personal best of 6-feet-8...named Most Outstanding Field Performer on the team for two consecutive years...voted the school’s Athlete of the Year in 1999.

 

Personal: Born February 14, 1983...son of Jerry and Eva Padrick...also recruited by North Carolina-Greensboro, Army, Florida Atlantic, UCF and Marshall...Physical Education major.
