2020 C-USA Honorable Mention Team

2020: Played and started all five games for FIU at cornerback... Named to C-USA Honorable Mention Team... Earned 25 tackles, with 16 being solos... Had one interception and three pass breakups as well on the year... His 25 tackles ranked as the fourth-most on the team and third among defensive backs... He was one of just two Panthers to pick off a pass in 2020... Helped the FIU defense rank 15th nationally and fourth in the league for passing yards allowed with 187.2 per contest... Best performance came against Middle Tennessee (10/10), after he earned six total tackles, an interception and two pass breakups. 

2019: Played in 10 games in his first season at FIU... Earned 16 tackles on the year, with 15 being solos... Also logged a pair of tackles-for-loss and two pass breakups in the secondary... Earned a season-high three tackles against Middle Tennessee (10/26).

2017-18 (IOWA): Redshirted in his first season at Iowa, before playing in 11 games as a redshirt freshman in 2018... Recorded five tackles, with four being solos, in mostly special teams duties.

PREP CAREER: Lettered in football and track while at American Heritage… Earned first-team all-county honors as a senior… Helped prep team advance to state championship game as a sophomore and junior… Recorded 53 tackles and 17 pass break-ups as a senior, with one rushing touchdown, one kickoff return touchdown, two forced fumbled and two recovered fumbles… Recorded 33 tackles and 12 pass break-ups as a junior, with two fumble recoveries, one interception and one forced fumble… Team captain as a senior… Also competed for prep rugby team... Turner is a former teammate of current Panther defensive end Noah Curtis, with the duo playing high school ball at American Heritage. 

ACADEMICS: Majoring in communications at FIU.

PERSONAL INFO: Son of Leroy Turner and Briggett Valentine-Turner... Brother, Justin Turner, played football at Army West Point in 2008.
