FIU Athletics

2004 (Junior): Competed in five games, mostly on special teams...registered all three of his tackles on assists at New Mexico State (10/30)...worked at middle linebacker during spring drills.

2003 (Redshirt): Sat out the season after transferring from Saint Peter’s College.

2001-02 (Saint Peter’s College): A two-year football letterwinner for the Peacocks who was a second-team all-conference selection as a sophomore after leading the league with nine sacks that ranked 24th in the nation...tops on Saint Peter’s with 16.5 tackles for losses and recorded 45 total stops...started at defensive end against FIU in the Golden Panthers inaugural game (8/29/02) and made two unassisted tackles.

Chaminade College Prep: Played three years of football and track and a year of wrestling for the Lions...honorable mention All-Broward selection as a junior for head football coach Mark Guandolo...ran the sprints and was named all-county in the shot put as a prep senior.

Personal: Born January 31, 1983...son of Sunday and Tosephire Akinbiyi...cousin Ade Akinbiyi is a professional soccer player in England...Business Management major.
