2005 (Junior): Despite missing two games, set a new program record of 118 tackles (65 solo) on the season that would have ranked fifth best in NCAA I-A...became only the second Golden Panther ever to record 100-plus tackles in a year...a first-team All-Sun Belt Conference selection who led the league averaging 13.1 tackles per game...had double-digit tackle games in seven-of-nine contests...named the SBC’s Defensive Player of the Year, first-team All-SBC and ranked as the top linebacker and No. 2 overall player in the conference by Collegefootballnews.com...also voted the team’s Defensive MVP and co-Player of the Year...led FIU with three interceptions, including a 37-yard return for touchdown versus Florida Atlantic (11/26)...ranked sixth in the conference with 0.33 interceptions per game...forced a fumble at Kansas State (9/3) and recovered another at Arkansas State (9/24)...had 11.0 tackles for losses of minus-26 yards, nine of those against league foes, which ranked fifth in that league category with 1.22 per game...credited with 19 tackles (13 solo) against Louisiana-Monroe (11/5) and another 18 stops (12 unassisted) at Troy (10/20) and against Middle Tennessee (12/3)...selected Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week on Nov. 7...blocked a punt at UL Monroe that directly led to an FIU defensive touchdown...two sacks on the year came against Troy and Middle Tennessee.
2004 (Sophomore): Battled through injuries to see action in nine games...despite missing a game, finished among the top-10 tacklers on the squad with 35 (18 solo)...after not making a tackle over the first two games of the year, recorded at least two stops in every game thereafter...picked up a career-high nine stops (five unassisted) against nationally-ranked Georgia Southern (11/13) and made eight (five solo) at Louisiana-Monroe (10/16)...of his three tackles versus Florida A&M (11/27), one of his two unassisted stops went for a loss of minus-5 yards.
2003 (Freshman): Another true freshman who came in and saw extensive playing time as a backup at middle linebacker...always around the football...played in eight games, missing three contests in early October due to a high ankle sprain...finished the year with 27 tackles (14 solo), making at least two stops in every game he played...credited with a season-high five tackles in games against Jacksonville (10/30) and nationally-ranked Florida Atlantic (11/22)...had four tackles for losses and picked up a sack vs. Carson-Newman (9/27)...Dean’s List honoree in the fall of 2003 and spring 2004.
Pahokee High School: An all-around prep athlete who played four years of football, three seasons of basketball and two years of baseball...on the gridiron, named Blue Devils’ Most Valuable Player in 1999 and 2000...not only did he make 148 tackles with 12 sacks and a pair of interceptions on defense, but he also scored nine touchdowns on offense as a senior fullback for coach Leroy Foster...named to the 2002 all-state team and as Palm Beach County’s Defensive Player of the Year...as a junior, racked up 134 tackles, eight sacks and two interceptions...averaged 14 points per game as a senior on the Pahokee basketball team...numerous academic awards included National Honor Society recognition, a member of the All-A’s team from 2000-02 and winning the Environmental Science Award as a junior.
