FIU -- 2002 Freshman: Speed merchant who started the season well but tired as the year progressed...4.56 spead in the 40-yard dash...played in all 11 games and got the start against nationally-ranked Maine (10/19)...caught five passes on the season for 60 yards...also ran the ball twice on end arounds and averaged 8.5 yards per carry...main kick-return specialist whose 16 returns netted 273 yards, and average of 17.1 yards per touch...recorded a long 24-yard return twice, against Butler (9/14) and Maine...also ran back 11 punt returns 134 yards, an average of 12.2 yards per return...longest punt return of the of the year went for 34 yards vs. Georgetown (9/28).

Santaluces High School: Excelled in varsity track and field in the hurdles...first team all-state, all-county and all-conference...silver medalist in the 110m high hurdles and bronze medalist in the 300m intermediate hurdles at the 4A state meet...state qualifier in the long jump...competed at the National meet as a junior and was the team MVP that year...helped the Chiefs to regional, district, conference and county track and field championships...coached in football by Ray Berger.
