FIU -- 2002 Freshman: Bulked up some over the winter...can play at either the guard or center position...tough, hard worker who coaches admire...in on 19 offensive plays last season without being called for a penalty or allowing a sack...two pancakes...graded out at 84 percent...in the weight room, squatting as much as 500 pounds.

 

Key West High School: Four-year varsity football letterwinner...second-team all-state selection as a senior...named all-county three times and was voted the Conchs’ Best Defensive Lineman as a junior...won academic honors in English...coached by Greg Kremer.

 

Personal: Born February 1, 1982...full name is David Patrick Lewin...chose FIU over interest shown by Sacred Heart and Valdosta State...son of Kent and Monica Lewin...undecided major.
