2004 (Redshirt): Did not compete for FIU during the 2004 season but coaches hope his past experience will pay dividends in 2005.
2003 (Sophomore): Saw action in 11 of 12 games, with six starts...of his 23 tackles on the year, five went for losses and one was a sack...picked up a season-high six stops (two solo) in the opener at Indiana State (9/6)...had at least one tackle in 10 of the games he played...lone sack came in the near upset of nationally-ranked Georgia Southern (10/4)...one of his two tackles against Stephen F. Austin went for a loss of minus-14 yards.
2002 (Freshman): Regular member of the rotation at defensive tackle, who played in all 11 games...recorded 19 tackles (13 solo) on the year, with a season-best seven tackles coming against national champion Western Kentucky (10/12)...two of his three tackles against Butler (9/14) were sacks, his only two of the campaign...a third tackle for loss came against Jacksonville (10/31)...recovered a fumble against nationally-ranked Maine (10/19).
Merritt Island High School: Played his first full season of prep football in 2000 for the Mustangs’ Class 4A Final Eight team...selected a 1999 Defensive Player of the Week by Florida Today...recorded 80 tackles, 10 sacks, eight deflections and an interception as a senior...coached by Gerald Hodgin...a three-year letterwinner for Merritt Island’s basketball team...voted Most Improved Basketball Player in 1999...averaged better than nine points and nine rebounds per game in 1999-2000.
Personal: Born October 15, 1981...chose FIU over interest shown by UCF, Florida Atlantic, Louisville and South Florida...son of Jerry and Vivian Allen...cousin Derek Ham played the 2001 season as a defensive lineman with the Cleveland Browns...Business Management major.
