2004 (Freshman): Came on as a true freshman and saw regular playing time, competing in nine games...23 tackles (15 solo) were among the best of the defensive linemen...opportunistic tackler who had 6.5 stops for losses of minus-38 yards--the most negative-yards on the team...also posted two sacks...had three tackles with a sack against Florida A&M (11/27) and recovered a fumble, rumbling 89 yards for a touchdown...posted a career-high five stops (three unassisted), which included a sack and 1.5 tackles for loss at Louisiana-Monroe (10/16)...picked up four tackles in games at Stephen F. Austin (10/9) and versus nationally-ranked Georgia Southern (11/13).

Homestead High School: A three-year football letterwinner for coach Andrew Brown...member of the Miami Herald’s third-team All-Dade 6A-4A Defensive Football team.

Personal: Born September 8, 1985...chose FIU over interest shown by USF and Florida A&M...son of Venson Jones, Sr. and Terry Bailey...oldest of five brothers and sisters...undecided major.
