Biography

As a Junior (2004): Played in 14 games for FIU, starting the first five straight... Netted lone goal of the season in 5-2 win over Atlantic Soccer Conference-opponent Philadelphia (10/15) in the 81st minute... Took a season-high two shots in season-opening double-overtime win at nationally-ranked North Carolina (9/10).

At University of Virginia (2001-03): Played in 15 games over career... In 2003, tied for third on the team with two goals and tied for fifth on the team with four points... Made lone penalty kick of the season... Recorded first collegiate goal on a diving header in Virginia’s 4-0 shutout of Temple as a freshman (10/2/01)... Saw limited action in 2002 before redshirting season due to injury.

High School: A four-time letterwinner in soccer ? twice at Norwood High School (1998-99) and twice at Potomac Falls High School (2000-01)... Earned First Team Northwestern District All-Star accolades in 2000 and 2001 and was the Player of the Year in 2001... Named 2001 Player of the Year by the Loudoun County Extra... Selected first-team all-state and all-region in 2000 and 2001... Named First-Team Bay State Conference in 1998 and 1999... Played club soccer for the Braddock Warhawks, helping guide the team to a national championship in 1999.

Personal: Born November 23, 1982, in New York City... Son of Nick Megaloudis and Gail Rongen... Has a sister, Nicole, and a brother, Nicholas... Father played for the New York Arrows... Stepfather, Thomas Rongen, played professional soccer for Ajax Amsterdam and coached US Men’s Under-20 National Team and was the first head coach of MLS-expansion club Chivas USA... Nicole played collegiate soccer for Virginia Commonwealth... Earned the National Science Merit Award and made the Honor Roll at Potomac Falls in 2001... Also recruited by Notre Dame, Georgetown and Connecticut... Major is sports management.
