Matteo Gasperoni

After a successful two-year stint as a player on the FIU men's soccer program, Gasperonni returned back to Miami, joining the coaching staff as a volunteer assistant in August of 2024 before being promoted to assistant coach in advance of 2025.

Gasperoni began his soccer career as the captain of Cesena FC, a professional academy in Italy, leading the team from ages 8 to 17. At 17, he joined Atalanta, where he played for the U19 team. During his time at Atalanta, Matteo was called up to the first team, where he stayed for several months, earning three official call-ups for Serie A and Coppa Italia matches. Matteo also made 19 appearances for the Italian National Under-16 and Under-17 teams. Between the Italian National team and Atalanta, Matteo played alongside top talents like Donnarumma, Bastoni, Locatelli, Scamacca, Papu Gomez, etc.

In 2021, Gasperoni moved to FIU, where he won the Conference USA Regular Season title. In 2022, he helped lead the team to victories in both the AAC Regular Season and the AAC Tournament, securing three team trophies over two years. In 2022, the team reached the sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament.

Gasperoni earned individual honors such as First Team All-Conference, First Team All-Conference Tournament, and All-Region. At FIU, Gasperoni completed his Master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

In 2023, Gasperoni transitioned to the University of San Diego, where he completed his second Master’s degree in Business Analytics and won the WCC Regular Season title.

In addition to his duties as an assistant coach at FIU, Gasperoni is the Head Coach of Juventus Academy Miami, and Head Coach of Mater Bay High School in Miami.
