As a Sophomore (2004): Saw action in eight games for the Golden Panthers... Recorded a shot in three matches, including one on goal versus Atlantic Soccer Conference-opponent Adelphi (11/5).

At Elon University (2003): Played in all 18 games as a freshman, starting 13... Picked up his first collegiate assist on Elon’s first goal versus Clemson (10/29/03).

High School: A four-year starter in soccer at nearby Palmetto Senior High School... As a senior led Dade County with 24 assists and added six goals en route to earning team’s leadership award and Offensive Player of Year honors... Served as team captain as a senior, picking up all-city, all-region and all-state accolades... Helped lead team to back-to-back district runner-up finishes and to the regional finals as a senior... Also played club soccer with West Kendall and Strike Force teams.

Personal: Born November 13, 1984, in Miami... Son of Vinico and Patty Merida... Has a sister, Elissa (26) and a brother, Vinnie (22)... Off the field, enjoys listening to music... A sports management major.
