2017 (Sophomore): Appeared in all 18 games, with eight starts… Totaled two points on the year, with two assists… Both assists came during the 2-1 win at USF (10/17)… A defensive stalwart, Calvo assisted the Panthers in all five shutouts on the year, including against No. 24 New Mexico (10/21) and against Omaha (11/16) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament… He assisted the Panthers in a program-first undefeated regular season, and an eight-match winning-streak… He totaled over 940 minutes on the year.

2016 (Freshman): Appeared in 11 games, making four starts … Playing a disciplined defensive role at midfield, Calvo assisted the Panthers in three of their six shutouts on the year with scoreless draws against Niagara (9/4) and South Carolina (10/10); and a 2-0 victory over Old Dominion at the Conference USA semifinals (11/11) … He totaled 493 minutes on the year.

Personal: Born in Escazú, Costa Rica…Is the son of Alvaro Calvo and Gabriela Oreamuno…Attended Montverde Academy (MAST) where he played soccer for three years, claimed two nation championship titles, and participated in a 136-game winning streak…The defensive stalwart allowed only four goals and posted 19 shutouts, while offensively recording five goals and eight assists…Before entering FIU he was named MAST Best Defender and the 2016 MVP, Defender of 2016, Florida Gatorade Player of the Year, All-USA Player of the Year, and a Top Drawer Soccer All-American, as well as also playing on the Costa Rican Under-20 National team…He was also recruited by Louisville, Boston College, Portland, and Saint Louis…Plans on majoring in mechanical engineering.
