2019 (JUNIOR): Appeared in 10 games for FIU, making seven starts… Provided depth off the bench to solidify the Panther backline… Logged a full 90 minutes in a clean sheet shutout victory over Stetson (9/24)… Played a full 105 minutes in a double-overtime victory over FGCU (10/8)… Helped FIU post a clean sheet performance against No. 10 Charlotte (10/18)… Avila’s solid defense in the backline allowed FIU to hold its opponents to one goal or-less in five of his starts… Fired one shot-on-goal against FAU on Sept. 14… Compiled a total of 578 minutes throughout the 2019 campaign.

2018 (SOPHOMORE): Appeared in 15 games, making 10 starts… Avila helped solidify the backline for the Panthers, logging a career-high in minutes played with over 1,000 on the season… He played 90-or-more minutes in five games throughout the season, including three consecutive games to start the year.

2017 (FRESHMAN): Appeared in 15 games, with 10 starts… An anchor on the backline, Avila assisted the Panthers in four of their five shutouts on the year, including against No. 24 New Mexico (10/21) and against Omaha (11/16) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament… He assisted the Panthers in a program-first undefeated regular season, and an eight-match winning-streak… He totaled over 875 minutes on the year.
 
PERSONAL: Son of Audberto Rene and Reyna Isabel… Has an older brother, Chris, and a younger sister, Leezamarie… Was recruited by Wake Forest, Clemson, N.C. State, and North Florida… Plans on majoring in business at FIU.
