Biography

2018 (Senior): Appeared in 16 games, with 16 starts… Led the team with 26 points and 12 goals, and tallied two assists… Finished third in Conference USA in goals (12) and shots (58), while finishing fourth in points (26)… Also finished third in C-USA in points-per-game (1.63), goals-per-game (.750), and shots-per-game (3.63)… Patino was the recipient of the C-USA Golden Boot Award for the second consecutive year, with a conference-leading seven goals in league matchups… In addition, Patino finished 11th in the nation in goals-per-game and 15th in total goals…He scored in eight of his 12 games played, recording multiple goals in four of those eight games… Recorded eight goals within a six-game stretch between September 23 and October 19…Had the game-winning goal in an overtime win on the road against Marshall (9/7) as he found the back of the net less than three minutes into the first overtime period… Led the team in penalty kicks, going 3-4 on his attempts…His stellar play helped FIU earn the No. 4 seed in the C-USA tournament… Patino was named to the All-Conference First Team, while also earning a spot on the United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Second Team… In addition to his excellence on the field Patino was recognized for his academic success, being honored to the C-USA InTouch Credit Union All-Academic Team… He logged the third-most minutes on the team with 1,294 and played 90-or-more minutes in eight different games… Patino was invited to the 2019 Major League Soccer (MLS) Player Combine following the season, one of only two players invited from C-USA… He eventually became the highest drafted player in program history as Orlando City SC selected him third overall in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft… He marks the ninth Panther to be drafted in program history, and only the fifth to be taken in the first round…Patino ends his FIU career ranked seventh on the all-time scoring list.

2017 (Junior): Appeared in all 18 games, with 18 starts… Led the team with a career-high 35 points and 15 goals, and tallied five assists… He recorded three game-winners during the 3-0 shutout of Ohio State (8/27), the 4-0 shutout of Marshall (10/7), and the 3-1 win over Old Dominion (10/25)… He recorded an impressive four matches with multi-goals, including a career-first hat trick against Marshall… Patino had four matches in which he scored a goal in the first 10 minutes of the game, including scoring in the third minute against Marshall… Patino tallied at least a single point in 10 consecutive matches on the year, including a five-match scoring streak… During the season opening weekend, Patino scored a single goal in each match against James Madison (8/25) and Ohio State (8/27), earning the title of Wolstein Classic Tournament MVP… He ended the year leading C-USA in almost all offensive categories, including goals, points, goals-per-game (0.83), points-per-game (1.94), and game-winners… Patino led the nation in goals-per-game and points-per-game for a majority of the season, as well as ranked in the top-five in the nation in total points and goals… He was tabbed the Preseason C-USA Player of the Year, and C-USA Offensive Player of the Week five times on the year… After scoring six points off three goals during back-to-back weeks, Patino was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week, for the weeks ending in Oct. 2 and Oct. 9, as well as to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week, for the week ending in Oct. 9… Patino was named to the All-C-USA First Team, was named C-USA Offensive Player of the Year, C-USA Player of the Year, and the Golden Boot Award Recipient… He was also named to the All-Southeast Region First-Team and All-American First-Team, as well as a semifinalist for the prestigious Hermann Trophy.

2016 (Sophomore): Appeared in 17 games, making 12 starts … Tallied a career-high eight goals, along with one assist, and three game-winners … He led the Panthers in goals, points, and game-winners … He totaled 17 points in 957 minutes of playing-time … Scored multi-goals in three games on the year, including one conference match-up … Kicked off the season with two goals, including a game-winner, during a 3-1 win at the College of Charleston (8/28) … Went on to score two more goals in the second half of a 4-3 loss at North Florida (9/9) and another two goals in the first 13 minutes of play against No. 21 Kentucky to hand the Wildcats a 2-1 loss … Patino scored the game-winner during the Panther’s last home match of the year for a 2-1 win over UAB (11/5) … His only assist on the year was to Paul Marie on the game-winner of a 2-0 shutout against Old Dominion during the Conference USA Tournament semifinals (11/11) … He was named the C-USA Player of the Week during the week of September 19 after his multi-goal performance against No. 21 Kentucky … He was also awarded C-USA All-Conference First Team Honors.

2015 (Freshman): Played in 17 games, making six starts…Totaled five points for the season (2g, 1a), also registered 13 shots and six SOG…Had a career-high three points (1g, 1a) in a 3-1 win at Stetson (9/6)…Scored the first of two goals in a 2-1 win at UCF (9/29)…Logged 529 minutes. 

Prior to FIU: Was a four-year letterwinner at Freedom High School, where he played for Head Coach Scott Brody…Was an All-Metro selection all four years that he played and was named the Orange County Athlete of the Year his senior season…Team MVP his sophomore and senior year…Scored 80 career goals, which included 30 goals his senior season and 28 goals his sophomore season…Also tallied eight goals his freshman year and four goals as a junior…Led Freedom to District Championships in 2014 and 2015.
 
Personal: Son of Milton Patino and Maria Pizano…Has a two sisters, Camila and Valery…Over the 2016 summer, he was named NPSL Player of the Week after an outstanding performance with the Kraze United academy team in Orlando, Fla. ... Majoring in sports management with a minor in business at FIU…Enjoys fishing and the beach in his spare time.
