Leslie MacManus joined FIU in January 2022 as the full-time sports dietitian where she oversees the sports nutrition program for all (18) Division I athletic teams. In this role, she is responsible for coordinating a comprehensive sports nutrition program geared towards improving health, well-being, training, performance, and recovery of student-athletes.

Previously, Leslie worked at a variety of settings, including Drexel University, University of Maryland, the Baltimore Orioles, and EXOS. In these roles, she supported athletes of all backgrounds including professional, collegiate, elite, and competitive youth, as well as tactical athletes and general population adults with a wide range of health and performance goals.

Leslie graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a bachelor’s degree in Public Health and a minor in Spanish in 2016. At Johns Hopkins, Leslie competed on the Field Hockey team. She later earned her master’s of science degree in human nutrition at Drexel University in 2019. Leslie completed her dietetic internship at the University of Maryland in 2020.

Leslie is a Registered Dietitian and an active member of the Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietitians Association (CPSDA) and the Sports and Human Performance Nutrition (SHPN). Leslie is working towards becoming a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD).
