Karen Del Carpio

Karen Del Carpio joined the FIU women's basketball program for the 2021-22 season.

Del Carpio lands at FIU with an extensive background in college basketball, most recently spending the 2019-20 season at Memphis as an assistant to the men's basketball program.

Prior to that, Del Carpio acted as the Director of Basketball Operations at Eastern Michigan for the 2018-19 season. Her primary responsibilities at EMU included coordinating team travel and budget, marketing, community service, camps, equipment management, supervising the managerial staff, and various other administrative duties.
 
Before making her way to EMU, Del Carpio spent the 2016-17 season as the Assistant Director of Basketball Operations at UCF. In the 2016-17 campaign, the Knights had a run to the semifinals of the NIT and earned the second-most wins in program history (24). Prior that that, Del Carpio spent two seasons (2014-16) in the same role with the UCF women's basketball program.

Del Carpio got her start in basketball operations as a student at Bethany College (Kansas) where she played on the women's basketball team from 2012-14, while also assisting the men's basketball team as a manager in her spare time. Del Carpio performed a variety of tasks and roles with the Swedes, including assisting with the team's daily operations, academic monitoring, success of student-athletes in the classroom, and editing athletic publications. Del Carpio was team captain of the women's basketball team at Bethany College and an All-Conference Honorable Mention.

Before attending Bethany College, Del Carpio played basketball for Southeast Community College (Nebraska) where she led her team to conference and regional championships, as well as its first appearance at the national championships.  
 
A native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Del Carpio earned her degree in Business Administration from Bethany College (Kansas).
