Biography

As a Junior (2013): Named to the 2013 Conference USA Second Team... Led the Panthers in scoring with eight goals, while accumulating two, two-goal games (Cleveland State and Rice)... Led the Panthers in points (17) and game winning goals (3)... Found the back of the net for the overtime game winner against UAB, just 57 seconds into extra time... Her first assist of the season came against Florida Atlantic in the 17th minute, part of a 1-0 Panthers win... Played 1,318 minutes, while adding 30 shots... Started in all 19 games for the Panthers... Was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team
 
As a Sophomore (2012): Appeared in all 21 of the Panthers’ games, 12 of which were starts... Averaged over one shot a game (1.14)
 
As a Freshman (2011): Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year…Second-Team All-Sun Belt Conference member…All-SBC Tournament Team member…Started 22-of-23 matches…Tied for the team lead with five goals…Second on the team with 14 points and four assists…Scored her first collegiate goal in a 2-1 win over Oregon (9/18)…Recorded her first-career multi-goal effort in a 2-0 triumph over South Alabama (10/2)…Notched the equalizer against Denver (11/3) in the SBC Tournament semifinal, sparking FIU to a 3-1 victory…Assisted on the game-winning tally against Arkansas State (9/25) in overtime with 53 seconds remaining…She helped FIU defeat Arkansas State again in the first round of the SBC Tournament, assisting on the eventual game-winning goal. Recorded two shots during the opening round of the NCAA tournament against UCF on 11/11.
 
Prior to FIU: A member of the U17 Cayman Islands National Team... Scored the game-tying goal in an eventual win against the Bahamas in the U17 World Cup qualifiers in 2009... The win marked the first time a team, men or women, from the island reached the final round of qualifiers of a FIFA event...  Played club for Creeks Clash, who was a 2008 state cup semi-finalist and a 2010 state cup finalist... Four-year letter winner and two-time captain for the Sandalwood High School soccer team in Jacksonville... Recorded 21 goals and 18 assists in her senior year... Member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society... Also recruited by North Florida, Florida Gulf Coast and Central Michigan.
 
Personal: Born on Nov. 11, 1993 in Kingston, Jamaica... Daughter of Mark and Tracy Shim ... Has one younger brother, Nicholas... Intends to major in biology and pursue a career as a physical therapist... Her cousin, Francesca Chong, played soccer for FIU from 2005-07... Enjoys playing the ukulele in her free time.
