Coach Christopher DeVito enters his first year as FIU Women’s Soccer’s Volunteer Goalkeeper Coach.

An alumna of Kalamazoo College, Devito earned a Bachelor’s in Psychology while also captaining the Men’s Soccer Team. A combination goalkeeper and forward during his playing days, DeVito immediately went into coaching following the conclusion of his playing career, first starting as an assistant coach and goalkeeper coach for his alma mater. He went on to be an assistant coach for Kalamazoo FC, where he developed and presented opposition analysis presentations to the team, as well as designed goalkeeper specific training sessions.

Devito’s first Division-1 job came at Eastern Illinois, where as an Assistant Coach in charge of organizing and implementing defensive strategies, he helped lead the team to its first ever Ohio Valley Conference Tournament semifinals appearance. From there he went to youth coaching for Michigan Jaguars FC, known for developing athletes for the college level. Devito managed team schedules, travel itinerary and expenses, while serving as the head coach of the boys’ team.
