Camilo Guerci joined FIU volleyball as an assistant coach in 2017.
The 2020 season saw FIU go 3-10 overall and 3-9 against league opponents. Fiorella Murillo was named to the All-Conference USA preseason team while Emily Meyer was named the C-USA Freshman of the Week once.
During the 2019 season, the Panthers went 10-16 overall with a 3-11 mark against Conference USA teams. Lina Bernier was one of 11 student-athletes named to the 2019 Conference USA All-Academic Team, taking home the honor for a season-straight season.

In 2018, Guerci guided the program to its first-ever Conference USA Championship finals appearance in 2018, as the Panthers won 19 matches on the year. The 19 victories for FIU was the most for the program since 2011. FIU also sported an impressive 12-1 mark at home.

During his first season with the Panthers were 6-16 overall and 4-10 against league opponents. Margherita Bianchin earned Conference USA All-Academic following the season.

Prior to his time at Northwood, Guerci spent one year as the head coach for Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. He helped guide the program to its best season in over 15 years (22-10 record), finishing third in the conference and ranking in the top-10 in the region for the first time in school history.

Guerci’s additional coaching experience includes time as an assistant coach at Fairmont State University in West Virginia from 2011-14. In his time with the Lady Falcons, Guerci helped guide Fairmont to a 74-29 record (.718). His experience also extends to coaching club volleyball, where he has north of five years of coaching for the Elevation Volleyball Club and Cincinnati Attack Volleyball Club.

As a player, Guerci enjoyed a four-year career at his alma mater, Mount Olive in North Carolina. He led the Trojans to their first ever Conference Carolinas Championship as a senior captain. Guerci ranked in the top-15 in the nation for hitting percentage (2nd, .484) and blocking (14th) for Division I men’s volleyball.
