Volleyball | Digging Deep with Chen Abramovich

Chen Abramovich enters her second season as an assistant coach for FIU volleyball in 2026 working alongside head coach Flavia Siqueira.

In 2025, Abramovich helped guide the Panthers to their first 20-win season since 2011 as they won 12 Conference USA games, the most in program history. Finishing 20-12 and earning a berth in the CUSA Tournament finals, seven Panthers earned all-conference recognition - senior libero Mandi Morioka was named CUSA Libero of the Year, senior middle blocker Magda Stambrowska earned Newcomer of the Year, Kira Givans collected First Team All-Conference recognition, Savannah Cook, Jillian Huckabey, and Morioka were named All-Conference Second Team and Rebekah Pfefferkorn was named to the All-Freshman squad.

Abramovich joined the Panther coaching staff in May 2025 following a decorated prep and collegiate career as a student-athlete. A native of Kfar Saba, Israel, Abramovich was a standout player for Galili High School and her club, Hapoel Kfar Saba. Her prowess earned her a spot at Nebraska as a member of the perennial-powerhouse Cornhusker program.

At Nebraska, she assisted her team in reaching the NCAA National Championship match in 2018, and a trip to the Elite 8 in 2019. While with the Cornhuskers, she was named to the Dean’s List and a Scholar-Athlete multiple times along with earning Academic All-Big Ten in 2019. Abramovich also went on to play at Cal Poly and Middle Tennessee. She had 161 digs and 44 aces over her career at MTSU, playing in 52 matches for the Blue Raiders.

As a prep, her and her team won the Israeli High School Championship every season of her career. With Galili, she qualified for the International School Federation (ISF) World Schools Championship in both 2014 and 2016, competing against the top high school teams from each country. In club, she played for Hapoel Kfar Saba and won the Israeli National Championship in 2017. Abramovich also competed with Israel’s National Team at the 2016 European Championships.

In the coaching ranks, Abramovich most recently served as a graduate assistant coach at Conference USA-member Middle Tennessee. She also spent time as a compliance assistant in the athletic department at MTSU. Additionally, Abramovich worked with 805 Volleyball Club in California as an intern, specializing in mental training.

A native of Israel, Abramovich completed her bachelor's degree in Psychology at Cal Poly State University in May 2022. She then went on to get her master's degree in criminal justice from Middle Tennessee State University in December 2024.Â
