Corey Marks was brought on to the FIU beach volleyball staff prior to the 2020 season. He serves as a volunteer assistant coach.

The 2020 FIU beach squad went 8-1 before the remainder of the season was cancelled to the COVID-19 outbreak. Two-time AVCA All-American duo Margherita Bianchin and Federica Frasca were undefeated on court one during the abbreviated season.

Marks came to FIU after serving as the head coach for the girls' volleyball team at Archbishop McCarthy High School from 2016-19. His team posted a 76-39 overall record, winning four district championships and finishing as the regional runners-up for four seasons.

Along with his experience coaching the girl's program, Marks led the Cypress Bay boys' team to a 15-4 mark from 2015-2016. He followed that performance with a 66-23 record as the Archbishop McCarthy High boys' coach from 2017-19. During that period, Marks won three district championships and brought his team to the 2019 FHSAA Final Four.

As a player, Marks led Erskine College to an NCAA DI/DII National Tournament in 2014. He helped the Flying Fleet to a Conference Carolina regular-season and tournament championship during his sophomore season. The setter closed out his career with 11.37 assists per set, which ranked fourth in the NCAA.
