Ines Medved was an integral part of the FIU volleyball program for four years as a student-athlete and is set to embark on her sixth season with the Panthers as she will serve a second year as an assistant coach in 2012.
Medved finished her playing career with a total of 460 kills across 302 sets of action for a kills per set mark of 1.52. She amassed 120 assists throughout her four years in a Panther uniform while also contributing 36 service aces, 363 digs and 146 blocks.
A native of Zagreb, Croatia, Medved capped off her FIU career with a stellar senior season in 2011, achieving numerous career-bests for the season, including 181 kills, 60 assists, 20 service aces and 58 blocks. Medved's season-best total for digs came in 2008 when she recorded 124, just one dig shy of her total for 2011 (123).
In addition to being a major contributor on the court, Medved also excelled in the classroom. She was selected to the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner's List on two occasions for posting a GPA of 3.5 or better, and was a two-time SBC Academic Honor Roll member after registering a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Prior to her arrival at FIU, Medved was a member of the Croatian Junior National Team since 2004, while also playing for her club team, AOK Miadost. She helped lead Croatia to a second-place showing at the European Junior Championship in France in 2007 and was selected to play in the World Junior Championships that summer but chose to arrive on campus to adjust and prepare for collegiate volleyball.
Medved graduated from FIU in May 2011 with a bachelor's degree in international business.
