Miami, Fla. (FIUSports.com) – The FIU Panthers will host their first Conference USA home game this Saturday, Oct. 12 vs. UAB at Alfonso Field at FIU Stadium. Kick-off with the Blazers is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
This weekend's game, presented by Doctors Hospital, also marks FIU's annual Homecoming contest. This year's theme is "Unleash the Spirit" and the Homecoming committee is presently putting on a full week of activities. To learn more about FIU Homecoming, click HERE.
If you cannot attend the FIU-UAB game, CSS will have the live television broadcast. FIU fans can also listen to the game on the FIU Sports Radio Network on FIUSports.com.
The Panthers are coming off a 24-23 victory on the road at Southern Miss last weekend. In the game, true freshman running back Silas Spearman III led FIU with 136 yards on 29 carries, scoring two touchdowns. Sophomore wide receiver T.J. Lowder also added a touchdown reception. Defensively, the Panthers forced a season-high four turnovers and stellar senior defensive tackle Isame Faciane blocked USM's game-winning 44-yard field goal attempt as time expired in the game.
