Box Score Louisiana took the three-game series from FIU with a 14-4 win Sunday afternoon at the FIU Baseball Stadium. The Ragin' Cajuns (31-14, 12-9 Sun Belt Conference) needed just eight innings to win two of three games from the Panthers (23-19, 11-10 SBC) as the Sun Belt Conference's Sunday 10-run rule took effect after eight innings.


The Panthers took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first inning behind Aramis Garcia's team-leading 10th home run of the season, but the Cajuns scored eight unanswered runs.

FIU added two more runs in the fifth inning to round out its scoring.

Julius Gaines, Edwin Rios and Roche Woodard each had two hits for the Panthers.

FIU next hosts Florida Gulf Coast in a doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon from the FIU Baseball Stadium. The first pitch of the doubleheader is at 1 p.m.
