@FIUWomensSoccer Faces First C-USA Road Test Friday at Rival Florida Atlantic

MIAMI (Oct. 2, 2014) – The FIU women's soccer team (6-5-0, 1-1-0) continues its Conference USA slate this Friday, as the Panthers and Florida Atlantic Owls meet up for the 29th time in series history. Winners of five-straight versus the Owls, FIU faces its first road test since Aug. 29 at Pacific. First kick is set for 7 p.m.

Scouting the Owls – Series History
Friday's match at the FAU Soccer Stadium wraps up a six-game home stand for the Owls, who are 3-2 during their stay in Boca Raton, Fla., and 6-5-1 overall. Against similar C-USA opponents this season, FIU and Florida Atlantic are 1-1, as the Owls edged Charlotte, 1-0, before falling, 2-1, to Old Dominion in overtime. With two three-goal scorers, Claire Emslie and Hildur Hauksdottir lead the offense with eight and six points, respectively .Sydney Drinkwater has played every minute in net the season, boasting five shutouts and a .794 save percentage.
 
FIU holds a commanding 22-5-1 overall record against Florida Atlantic. Winners of the series last five contests, FIU won, 1-0, last season on the road.
