MIAMI (March 24, 2014) – The FIU sand volleyball squad (6-2) will open its 2014 home campaign this Tuesday, March 24, as the Panthers host Florida Atlantic, Webber and Florida Gulf Coast in dual play. Action is set to begin at 8 a.m. at the FIU Sand Courts, located at Modesto A. Maidique Campus, next to the FIU Tennis Courts and across the street from FIU Arena.
"We are excited to start our home season," Head Coach Rita Buck-Crockett said. "All the teams we are facing are really good. I am excited to see where we stand against them and how much we have improved since the start of the season."
The Panthers will first take on Florida Atlantic, where the No.4, 5 and 6 pairs will start at 8 a.m. before No. 1, 2 and 3 pairs will begin at 9 a.m. FIU then faces Florida Gulf Coast at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. before a two hour break where FAU and Webber will compete. Following the break, the Panthers will concluded their portion of the day against Webber at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Action will continue on throughout the afternoon as the Owls take on Florida Gulf Coast at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. The day will conclude with the Florida Gulf Coast taking on the Warriors of Webber at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
