BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (Jan. 17, 2015) – The women's basketball team was unable to get much going offensively Saturday afternoon, falling 81-42 to WKU at E.A. Diddle Arena. With the loss, the Panthers fall to 3-13 overall and 0-5 against Conference USA opponents, while the win lifts the Lady Toppers to 16-3 on the season and 5-0 against league opponents.
For the game, FIU shot 24.6 percent (16-of-65) against WKU's 47.8 percent (32-of-67). Although the Panthers out-rebounded the Lady Toppers, 46-43, WKU had 54 points in the paint and forced 23 FIU turnovers which were converted into 22 points.

Kiandre'a Pound led FIU in scoring and registered her 13th double-digit scoring performance with 14 points. Junior
Destni Feagin added 11 points off of a 4-of-9 shooting performance which included three three-point baskets. Senior
Marita Davydoa pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds, two shy of her career best. WKU was led by redshirt sophomore guard Kendall Noble who finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, five steals and a block.
WKU's Micah Jones knocked down the first basket of the game on the Lady Topper's opening possession, giving them the early lead. WKU continued on the offensive scoring the next nine points over the first four minutes of the game. FIU would not get on the board until the 14:56 mark where Davydova converted on an old fashioned three-point play. WKU's lead remained in the single digits until the 12:17 point and grew to 18 as the Lady Toppers closed out the frame on a 24-8 run to lead 41-23 at halftime.
WKU opened the second on a 9-0 run and extended its lead out to as many as 41 in the second half. FIU was able to cut it down to 27 but would not get any closer.
Next up, the Panthers take a couple days off before heading to Boca Raton, Fla., to take on the Owls of Florida Atlantic on Saturday, Jan. 24. Tipoff is slated for 5 p.m. ET from FAU Arena.
