MIAMI (Oct. 5, 2015) – FIU Volleyball (10-6, 4-2 in C-USA) will host the Eagles of FGCU
Tuesday, Oct. 6, at
7 p.m. The Panthers are coming off a great weekend, going 2-0 against conference rivals Marshall and UTEP.
Against UTEP – Last Sunday, against the Miners, FIU got a 3-0 sweep (25-19, 25-13, 25-23) and improved to 3-0 versus conference opponents on Lime Court at FIU. The Panthers were led by sophomore
Brianna Gogins with a hitting percentage of .625. Senior
Lucia Castro led in kills with 11, while freshman
Katie Friesen led in assists with 23. Freshman
Dominique Dodd also added 16 assists.
Scouting FGCU – The Eagles will enter
tomorrow's match with a record of 10-7. The Eagles are coming off a 3-0 loss to Lipscomb last Sunday. FIU's match against FGCU will be a non-conference game, the 11
th of the season. FIU is 6-4 versus non-conference opponents.
The Panthers are 2-0 with their new lineup, which includes four middle hitters. They will look to continue that winning streak against the Eagles
tomorrow night.
