FIU Women’s Tennis Hosts Florida Gulf Coast and Bethune-Cookman this Weekend

MIAMI (Feb. 26, 2015) – The FIU women's tennis team (2-5) returns home to host a pair of matches this weekend, welcoming the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles on Saturday, Feb. 28, and the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats on Sunday, March 1.
 
Saturday's match with FGCU will begin at 2 p.m. ET and Sunday's contest versus the Wildcats will start at noon from the FIU Tennis Courts. Admission to all FIU tennis matches is free to the public.
 
The Panthers are looking to snap a five-match losing streak as FIU has been on the road since Feb. 6. With a 2-0 record at home, FIU owns a 2-1 mark versus the Eagles all-time. The last meeting between the two schools resulted in 4-3 win for the Panthers on Feb. 1, 2014.
 
Five Panthers have registered double-digit victories in singles play this season. Freshman Nerma Caluk has a team-best 16 singles wins, while junior Carlotta Orlando has notched 15. Sophomore Nina Nagode has garnered 14 singles wins while junior Kaitlin Brozovich and senior Yana Koroleva have 12 each.
