MIAMI (Feb. 28, 2015) – The women's basketball team fell to (RV) WKU, 88-47, on senior night from Lime Court at FIU Arena. With the loss, the Panthers drop to 3-24 overall 0-16 against Conference USA opponents, while the win brings the Lady Toppers to 25-4 on the season and 13-2 in league play.

Senior Marita Davydova went out with a bang notching her 20th career double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. She was one of two Panthers in double-figures as redshirt freshman Kiandre'a Pound added 13 points while hitting six-of-eight attempts from the field. WKU had four players finish in double-figure points, led by freshman Tashia Brown with a game-high 19.

FIU opened the game on fire with an 11-3 run over the first three-and-a-half minutes of play. WKU stopped the damage with a jumper from the key that ignited a 12-2 run over five minutes to take its first lead of the night. The Lady Topper lead eventually grew to 14 with about 5:33 to play in the first as the Panthers were held scoreless for almost five minutes. Pound ended the dry spell with a layup, but WKU continued to drive as it went into halftime with a 37-18 advantage.

After being held scoreless for the final 2:53 of the first half, FIU came out of the break Labady came out and knocked down a three-pointer to start the second, but the Lady Toppers responded with back-to-back baskets to take 23-point lead. WKU slowly extended it out to 30 with 12:06 left to go. The Panthers pulled back within 24, but the Lady Toppers were too much to handle.

For the game, FIU shot 34.5 percent (34-of-55), while WKU hit 60.7 percent (37-of-61) of its attempts. The Lady Toppers edged out the Panthers in rebounds, 37-27, and had 16 second-chance points and 48 points in the paint.
