MIAMI (Sept. 28, 2015) – The FIU Men's Soccer team (6-2, 2-0 C-USA) will take its six-match winning streak to Orlando as the Panthers face the UCF Knights on Tuesday evening. First touch will be at 7 p.m. at the UCF Soccer and Track Complex.
Last Time Out: The No. 24-ranked FIU Men's Soccer team won its sixth-straight match on Saturday evening, defeating Marshall, 5-1, at the FIU Soccer Stadium. FIU wasted no time taking the 1-0 lead in the sixth minute.
Paul Marie passed the ball to
Marvin Hezel who knocked it past the diving Marshall keeper with a header. FIU kept the pressure on the Marshall defense when Marie's point-blank shot was saved by the keeper in the 26
th minute. Shortly after, Marie regained control of the goalie's deflection and passed it to Nandi Batancur who blasted the ball into the lower-right corner of the net for a 2-0 FIU advantage. The goal was Batancur's fifth of the season and Marie's second assist of the match. FIU added three more goals in the second half to come away with the 5-1 victory.
FIU in the Rankings: The Panthers are currently tied first in Conference USA with Kentucky, and South Carolina. FIU is ranked No. 24 in the nation.
Luis Betancur ranked No. 27 in goals (5) and No. 3 in game winning goals.
Jamar Campion-Hinds ranks No. 6 in assists per game and No. 7 in total assists.
Scouting UCF: The Knights enter Tuesday's match with a 3-3-1 record coming off a 2-2 tie against Memphis on Saturday.
