Miami (April 17, 2017) – The FIU beach volleyball team (20-12, 8-5 CCSA) is traveling to Estero, Fla. on
Tuesday, April 18, to compete against Florida Gulf Coast at
4 p.m. This match will be the Panthers' final contest before the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Tournament this upcoming weekend in Emerson, Georgia.
FIU finished the last weekend of regular season tournament play at the Florida State Alumni Weekend Invitational, posting a 2-2 record, which improved them to 20-12 on the season. During the two-day event, the Panthers upended No. 9 Stetson, 3-2, as well as No. 10 Grand Canyon State, 4-1.
FIU has climbed up in the NCAA rankings, now tied for tenth in the nation.
Looking at the Eagles: Florida Gulf Coast (13-6) is coming off back-to-back losses to No. 13 Stetson in its final doubleheader of the regular season. The Eagles fell to the Hatters, 4-1, before getting swept in their final match, 5-0. FIU leads the Eagles 2-0 all time.
