-Â The FIU women's soccer team began a three-match homestand on Friday night at the FIU Soccer Stadium, dropping a 5-1 decision to Conference USA foe UAB. The Panthers fall to 1-6 on the year and 0-2 in C-USA, while the Blazers are 8-1-2 and 1-1 in league play.
-Â UAB controlled the match from the opening touch, leading 2-0 at the intermission and 3-0 after just 48 minutes of action.
Ashley Adams (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) scored FIU's second goal of the season, off a pass from
Asha James (Canaan, Tobago / Signal Hill Secondary) in the 65
th minute of play.

Courtney Phillips (Arlington, Texas/Mansfield Timberview) led FIU in shots on the night with three, and Isabella De Almagro (Pembroke Pines, Fla./American Heritage) and
Paula Quintero (Doral, Fla./Ronald Regan) each had two shots.
Grace Wilson (Maineville, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame), along with Adams, had the Panthers's shots on goal.
